Yr 5 visit to College Lake, 28.04.15

April 29, 2015

Year 5 had a most wonderful day at College Lake for our Earth Caretakers’ training. The sun shone brightly as we left school and whilst there was a cool breeze throughout the day the weather was kind. The children worked in three groups rotating around different areas; the woodland, the wild life and herb garden and the yurt field. We discovered the five secrets needed to take care of the earth; wonders, energy, solitude, care and discovery. The knowledgeable leaders were able to guide the children through each exciting activities and they were so impressed with the learning behaviour demonstrated by the year 5 group. A favourite activity was the ‘Magic Spots’, learning to be still and listen to the sound of living things, contemplating the wonders of nature. Well done everyone !
