Imperial War Museum visit, 5.11.15

November 9, 2015

On the 5th November 2015, Year 5 had a very successful trip to IWM, London. This fascinating museum has a new gallery that is devoted to our current History topic (World War 1).

The children were given the role of curator by one of the museum’s staff. They then selected objects from the First World War Galleries to create their own exhibition. They had to give clear reasons for their choices.

The objects ranged from the head of Tirpitz the pig; a messenger pigeon log book; ‘dazzle ships’ and trench periscopes.

When the children were not with the museum staff they had a lightning tour of a few of the other galleries.

All the children and staff agreed that they would love to return to this fantastic museum!
