Greenway Girl’s Football v Kings Langley 2.2.16

February 5, 2016

On Tuesday 2nd February, the Greenway Girl’s football team had a pivotal match up against Kings Langley. The first half proved Greenway to be the dominant side, with the girls running riot. Erin Had scored a hatrick within the opening 5 minutes and quickly doubled her tally to 6 inside 10 minutes. The girls were solid defensively, regaining possession quickly and forming breakaway attacks quickly and effectively which had seen Erin slot 6 home already. The girls continued their onslaught, with Izzy adding 2 expertly placed efforts. It was exciting to watch, as the girls kept winning the ball back and beginning numbered attacks.

At half time, it was only fair that Annie (goalkeeper) came out on pitch to get involved in the action. Erin had volunteered herself to go in goal with Grace also saying she would happily contribute, so they shared the goalkeeping duties 10 minutes each. The game slowed down a lot which was expected as the girls worked so hard in the first half. The girls still managed to mount dangerous attacks, as Izzy rounded up her third with a strong effort. Then Centre Back Grace got in on the action with her first shot of the game before heading into the sticks. Finally, Annie rounded up the win with an impressive strike to seal the game 11-0 to Greenway!
