Yr 5 tag rugby 20.4.16

May 9, 2016

On Wednesday 20th April, Greenway’s year 5 tag rugby team faced off in the final of the tag rugby league. It was set to be a great match as it was a sunny day at the neutral venue of the Cavendish school.

The sides could not be more even. Neither side could be separated. After one team scored the other would immediately reply. This carried on the whole game. The final whistle saw the score line set at 13-13. This meant the match went to a golden try. A victory would surely be set on whichever team took kick off. Unfortunately, Kings Langley won the toss and chose to take kick off. Moments later, Kings scored which meant Greenway lost in the final and came second. It was a hard defeat to take but second place was still a satisfying and fantastic achievement considering how many they had to defeat to earn that spot.
