Red Ash, Spring Term 2017

May 18, 2017

We began the year making bird seed cakes in case it got too cold for birds to find food. We put them out each night in our school garden. During our Traditional Tales theme we turned detective to find out who the villains were in each story. We also used real bricks, sand and water to build walls to keep the wolf away.

In our Understanding the World area we observed florist’s beads as they absorbed water. We recorded our findings to show Nursery children what happened. During Art Week we were inspired to use a range of tools and resources to recreate Kandinsky’s ‘Circles’ art. We went on to use the same ideas to create our Mother’s Day cards.
