Science Day, 16.5.17

May 18, 2017

The theme for this year’s Science Day was ‘Science is Magic.’

All the children from Nursery to Year 6 saw an age appropriate version of The Magical Science Show delivered by the wonderful Professor Brainstorm.

Classes carried out a wide range of investigations and activities based on the premise that: It looks like magic, but everything can be explained using Science. These activities were based on the themes of: forces; materials and their properties; states of matter; plants and even included some basic chemistry!

Here are some quotes from children in Year 4:

I think Science is magic because if you don’t know how to do something you can find out about the science and then you can make it work. Freya

Science is such fun – that’s why I think it is magic! Poppy

I think magic is Science because things don’t just happen – there is always an explanation. Erin

I think Science is magical and it’s really amazing! Arthur

I think that Science Day was such fun because it was like magic! I was mind-blown! Libby
