General Election, June 2017

June 13, 2017

The British values of democracy and individual freedom were in action last Thursday at Greenway as the children considered which of the main parties they would vote for in our mock election. Turnout was extremely high and the final result was that Labour won with 31% of the vote, closely followed by the Green Party with 27%, the Liberal Democrats with 23%, the Conservatives got 14% and UKIP brought up the rear with 3%. It looks like another hung parliament and cross-party alliance in the making, albeit with a rather different make-up to the one the rest of the country is getting!
