On 4th December Mrs. Lydia Carmichael came to talk to Year 2 about her life as a Foundling child. She was left at the Berkhamsted Foundling Hospital (now Ashlyns School) at the age of 2 months. Her name was changed from Elizabeth to Lydia and she remained there until she was 15 years old leaving to go out to work. The children were fascinated by her tales which helped to give another experience to their learning about Thomas Coram and the children he cared for at Foundling Hospital.
