Year 2 visit to National Gallery, 4.4.19
Year 2 visited the National Gallery on 4th April. The Gallery staff took us to the paintings that the children had used as part of the KS1 performance, Dogs’ Night in March (Mr. and Mrs. Andrews by Thomas Gainsborough, The Arnolfini Marriage by Jan van Eyck, Madame de Pompadour by Francois-Hubert Drouais and The Bathers at Asnieres by Georges Seurat). We were able to look in depth at these paintings and learn so much about the artists and the stories behind the art works. The children were delighted to spot these paintings in the Gallery and enjoyed a really exciting day!
