Visiting School

We hold a number of open days every year when prospective parents may look around school and meet the Head Teacher. If you wish to look around school at any other time please telephone or email to make an appointment with the Head.

Starting Nursery

Just prior to starting nursery you will be given the opportunity for nursery teachers to visit your child in their current childcare setting or at home.

Starting School

Before starting school, there will be a meeting to discuss admission arrangements and your child will have the opportunity to visit their Reception class. All pupils are invited to visit for a morning.

Home School Agreement

You and your child will be asked to sign a Home School Agreement before your child starts school. This agreement sets out the expectations for the staff, parents and pupils. This will be kept in your child’s file and is reviewed yearly.

Consultations

Parents are invited to consultation evenings in the Autumn and Spring term to discuss their child’s progress with the class teacher. Every child receives a report each year at the end of the Summer term.

Child Shows Parent

Each term parents are invited to view their child’s work in the classroom accompanied by their child. On the same day there is a sharing assembly where pupils present their work to parents of invited classes.

Open Evening

At the end of each academic year parents are invited to look around school with their child with a focus on celebrating their child’s work and achievements over the year and to visit their future classroom.

Parent Helpers

Parents are welcome in school as helpers. At the beginning of each term parents are invited to a meeting to talk about the activities in which they might be engaged, e.g. listening to reading, tidying the Library, putting up artwork. All helpers must be DBS checked.
