Professor Brainstorm, June 2018
Seven groups of Years 2-4 children from local primary schools came to Greenway on 27th June to see a Professor Brainstorm Science Show. Our year 5 children also saw a show in the afternoon. This was funded by the Ogden Trust for the enhancement of the teaching of Physics.
The children were involved in experiments and challenged to explain how they work. Some of the topics covered were: electricity, sound, light, forces and optical illusions.
It was an excellent experience and wonderful to see our children joining in with other schools.
Here are some quotes from local teachers:
‘An excellent show, pitched very well and really informative and engaging for the children’.
‘A really good scientific learning experience’.
‘Great show, the children were engaged and confident joining in. A lot of topics were covered in a very informative and interesting way’.
The children’s feelings were summed by Teya and Ruby Year 5:
‘I liked Professor Brainstorm because he was informative and fun, plus I love Science, especially experiments. Please come back again!’
‘When I get home I’m going to make a ‘laughing chicken’. It was a really fun and educational experience’.
