Year 3 Trip to the Verulamium Museum, 22.10.18
Year 3 had a fantastic day out at the Verulamium Museum, which proved to be a brilliant learning opportunity as regards our Roman Topic. We visited the Roman Hypocaust and were amazed by the beautiful example of mosaic flooring – not to mention the incredible underfloor heating system! We learned about the 2,000 year old town of Verulamium and then toured the museum to explore the many finds excavated in the original Roman town that was once on the site of the museum. We enjoyed a classroom session with museum staff, who allowed us to hold roman artefacts found at the site and we even dressed as slaves! A memorable day!
