Ogden Trust, Mr Allen Visit, June 2024
Years 3 and 5 were very pleased to welcome Mr Allen from London for his second visit to Greenway on Friday 28th of June.
The children took part in lessons (using Intelino train systems) that inspired them to think and behave like scientists and engineers. The trains are controlled by sleeper style ‘snaps’ coloured tiles and Year 5 also controlled them using the Scratch programming language. The children learned how to measure the tracks, start and stop the trains and vary their speed.
All the children were highly engaged and as a treat, Mr Allen allowed them to have a penalty shoot-out with his voice-controlled robot!
